At Equator Coffee, sustainability and social justice are our top priorities and it shows in everything that we do. To meet our high standards, we go as far as growing our own coffee which is highly unusual for a roaster. This ensures complete transparency as well as an ability to build environmentally friendly housing for our workers and invest in their wellbeing. We practice sustainable methods such as shade farming, using delivery trucks powered with biodiesel, and composting 100% of chaff and coffee grounds. We are one of the only roasters in the country to work with a Loring SmartRoaster, a sophisticated machine that reduces carbon emissions by 80% without compromising quality.
